Block walls

This is a block wall that bad horizontal and vertical discoloration. The causes were the usual culprits: Uneven suction of the cement plaster over the block versus the block joints and the staining from the coping grout joints. The staining appeared during the first winter after the wall was completed. A couple of years later the wall was painted which cleaned it up; however, the winter after it was painted the vertical staining from the coping returned.
