PAF Brick Finish

PAF Brick Finish is a coating system that utilizes three elements: PAF Plus or e2 Finishes to replicate the textured brick, an adhesive backing brick template, and a coat of PAF Multi Base that serves as the colored grout of the desired PAF Plus or e2 Finish. Both the Brick and the grout finished are available in stock and custom colors.

PAF Plus and e2 Finishes are packaged  in 65 Lb (29.48 kg) pails. PAF Multi Base is also packaged in 65 Lb (29.48 kg) pails. Brick templates cover 400 sq.ft. approximate per box, but they vary in style and package. Please request a custom brick template document from your WBP distribuitor to explore your options.

Benefits and Use:
PAF Brick Finish is a cost effective way of replicating a brick finish exterior wall in a fraction of the time. Brick templates are available in various shapes, forms and thicknesses to achieve the desired look. Both the grout and the brick finish could be custom colored, providing designers and owners with a variety of looks and color combinations.

PAF Plus and e2 Finishes coverages are as follows:
Super Fine: 130-150 sq. ft. approx.
Fine: 110-130 sq. ft. approx.
Medium: 100-120 sq. ft. approx.
Coarse: 80-100 sq. ft. approx.
Classic: 80-100 sq. ft. approx.

PAF Multi Base coverage:

Approximately 10.2-12.1 m2 (110-130 ft2) per 29.5 kg (65 lb.) pail. Approximately 18.6-23.2 m2 (200-250 ft2) when used as a grout.

The PAF Brick Finish coating system must be applied over dry, clean smooth skim coated surfaces, free of dust and imperfections. Skim Coats receiving the Brick Finish System shall be completely cured for a minimum of 24 hours prior to application. If applied over concrete surfaces, concrete must be cured for a minimum of 28 days prior to application of Brick Finish. All receiving substrates shall be coated with PAF Primer prior to Brick Finish applications.

Both PAF (Plus or e2) Finishes as well as PAF Multi Base shall be mixed to a homogenous consistency with a mixing blade powered by a 450-500 rpm drill. A small amount of water may be added to adjust workability.

PAF Brick Finish is applied in a three step process over a skim coated basecoat:
1. Apply a coat of PAF Multi Base (previously colored if acting as a grout finish) over the skim coated basecoat. Allow PAF Multi Base to dry for at least 24 hours. PAF Multi Base requires to be completely dry to receive the Brick template.
2. Peel off the backing of the template and carefully align the desired Brick template throughout the wall. Overlapping the Brick template is necessary to ensure the grout lines will be visible. Make sure the Brick template is adhered and firmly in place before the application of PAF Finish.
3. Apply a coat of previously colored PAF Finish (Plus or e2) over the Brick template, to a maximum of 1/8” in thickness over the Brick stencil. Ensure that the Brick template is completely covered by the PAF finish. Allow the PAF Finish to settle for at least 2 hours before removing the Brick template to avoid sagging. Remove the Brick template within 24 hours.

PAF Brick Finish drying is upon environment conditions. Under average conditions (70°F) PAF Brick Finish will dry in 24 hours.  Lower temperature conditions require PAF Brick Finish to be covered or protected for longer periods.

Surface temperatures shall not be below 50°F (10°C). Environment temperature must be between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) for PAF Brick Finish applications. Do not use PAF Brick Finish on exposed exterior horizontal surfaces.

PAF Multi Base and PAF Finishes  utilized in PAF Brick Finish applications should be stored in sealed containers avoiding sunlight and in temperatures above 40°F (4°C).
