Description:
Western Blended Color Paks are color packets of either liquid or dry color pigments designed to achieve a targeted color when combined with a designated finish product that may be suitable for pigmentation. Color Paks are available in different presentations depending of the use.

Uses:
Color Paks are combined (added-on) to Interior & Exterior Finishes which may be suitable for pigmentation.

Coverage:
Varies according to the finish product.

Properties:
Color Paks will replicate the conditions of the Interior or Exterior Finishes they are added onto.

Job Conditions:
Air and substrate surface temperature must be 4 °C (40 °F) or higher and remain so for a minimum of 24 hours.

Surface Preparation:
Substrate surface temperature must be above 4 °C (40 °F) and must be clean, dry, structurally sound and free of efflorescence, grease, oil, form release agents and curing compounds. On painted surfaces, remove all blistered, peeling or lose paint to a sound substrate. Remove gloss by sanding. Concrete should be cured for 28 days.

Mixing with Interior & Exterior Products:
Pour the color pak into the container where you are performing the mix and rinse the residual from the color pak container into the pail. Do not add more than 10 oz (including the color pak) of water into the container. Thoroughly mix both items (color pak & finish) with a Goldblatt Jiffler Mixer until a uniform color consistency is attained. When mixing color paks, check both, the finish product package and color pak container to make sure the designated bases on both labels match.

Application:
Follow the application instructions of the desired product finish in which the color pak is going onto.

Clean Up:
Clean tools with water while colored residual is still wet.

Storage:
Color Paks must be stored at 4 °C (40 °F) or above in tightly sealed containers out of direct sunlight. Liquid color paks shelf life is significantly shorter than dry pigment color paks. Do not use a liquid color pak that has been sitting for more than 6 months.

Shelf Life:

  • Dry pigment color paks: 1 Year.

  • Liquid Color Paks: 6 Months.

Limitations:
Not for use on horizontal, traffic-bearing surfaces.
