Description:
EZ-Kote Stucco is a polymer modified portland cement product designed to be used over cementitious and masonry surfaces. It may also be used to bond EPS shapes.

Features and Uses:

  • EZ-Kote Stucco may be used for the following applications:

  • Patching hairline cracks in portland cement plaster.

  • Skim coating directly over cementitious and masonry surfaces.

  • A mesh embedment coat for use over portland cement.

  • Bonding and plastering EPS foam shapes.

Benefits:
It is an all in one mix so every batch is accurate.
It is flexible and water resistant. Provides superb adhesion to cementitious and masonry surfaces. Provides an excellent substrate for acrylic finishes to adhere to.

Packaging:
EZ-Kote Stucco is packaged in 50 lb / 22.7 kg sacks.  Fifty-six sacks per pallet.

Sands Blends:
EZ-Kote Stucco is available in a super fine aggregate presentation.

Coverage:
Coverage as a skim/leveling coating at 1/16” is approximately 115 square feet per bag.  Porosity of substrates will affect the coverage. Embedding mesh will require a thicker application to achieve full embedment of the mesh. It is also recommended to increase the thickness of the application over EPS foam shapes to provide more durability.

Mixing:
Each 50 Lb sack of EZ-Kote Stucco is mixed with 1.25 gallons of potable water in a clean pail and drill mixed with a paddle mixer. Initial mixing time is approximately 3 minutes or until the material is thoroughly wet.  The material shall stand for 5 minutes.  Add additional water as needed (up to 6 ounces.) and mix for one minute or just the time it takes to disperse the additional water.

Application as a skim coat:
Apply 1/16” thick EZ-Kote Stucco with a steel trowel over cementitious or masonry surfaces. Smooth plaster with a trowel.

Application as EPS adhesive:
All surfaces to receive EPS shapes shall be moistened before application.  The surface of the EPS shape shall also be scored to provide a good key for the adhesive.  Apply EZ-Kote Stucco with ½” x ½” notched trowel to the back of the EPS shape. Coverage should be 100% with EZ-Kote Stucco. Press firmly into place.

Application as an embedment coat for mesh:
Embed mesh in a 1/16” thick layer of EZ-Kote Stucco. Use trowel to apply pressure to fully embed the mesh.  Smooth plaster with trowel. An additional coat may be required if mesh is visible.

Application as a patching plaster:
EZ-Kote Stucco may be directly troweled over hairline cracks in cement brown coats before the application of an EZ-Kote Stucco skim coat. For cracks larger than hairline (1/64”) or 'dynamic' cracks, work EZ-Kote Stucco into the crack then apply 2” fiberglass tape over the crack.  Trowel EZ-Kote Stucco over the top and another 6” to 8” in all directions from the repaired area. Feather the edges to blend into the cement substrate.  Skim coat entire surface as described above.

Curing:
The product requires a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours moist curing.  Environmental conditions such as heat, wind and low humidity will require additional curing.

Finishing:
A variety of finishes such as standard acrylic paints, textured acrylic finishes or elastomeric coatings may be applied over EZ-Kote Stucco. The recommendations of the finish coat manufacturer shall be followed regarding base coat preparation, acceptable pH levels, bonding, application and curing of their finish.
