Description:
Marvel Fix is a multi-use polymer modified cement-based compound designed to smooth, repair, patch and leveling concrete, stucco and masonry surfaces.

 

Features and Uses:

• Marvel Fix is used for architectural repairs, patching and leveling of a variety of surfaces. Available in Gray and White bases, Marvel Fix is perfect for the following scenarios:

• Leveling, Repair & Skim Coating (Smooth) of tilt up poured-in-place panels.

• Patching hairline cracks in portland cement plaster, masonry or concrete.

• Skim coating directly over portland cement plaster, masonry or concrete.

• Repair of Pre-Cast Systems.

Packaging:
Marvel Fix is packaged in 50 lb / 22.7 kg sacks.  Fifty-six sacks per pallet.

 

Sands Blends:
Marvel Fix is available in a smooth aggregate presentation.

 

Coverage:
Coverage at 1/16” is approximately 120 square feet per bag.  Porosity of substrates will affect the coverage. 

It is also recommended to increase the thickness as needed when repairing hairline cracks.

 

Mixing:

• In a clean container, add the amount of clean potable water required for the desired application.

• Use a low speed drill and mixing blade, and gradually add Marvel Fix into the container.

• Mix thoroughly until a creamy, smooth consistency is achieved.

• Ensure no lumps are present.

• Do not over-water.

 

Application as a skim coat:
Apply 1/16” thick Marvel Fix with a steel trowel over portland cement, concrete or masonry surfaces. Smooth plaster with trowel.

 

Application as a patching plaster:
Marvel Fix may be directly troweled over hairline cracks in cement brown coats before the application of a skim coat. 

For cracks larger then hairline (1/64”) or 'dynamic' cracks, work Marvel Fix into the crack. Trowel Marvel Fix over the top and another 6” to 8” in all directions from the repaired area. Feather the edges to blend into the repaired substrate.  Skim coat entire surface as described above. 

 

Curing:
The product requires a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours moist curing.  Environmental conditions such as heat, wind and low humidity will require additional curing.

 

Finishing:
A variety of finishes such as standard acrylic paints, textured acrylic finishes or elastomeric coatings may be applied over Marvel Fix. The recommendations of the finish coat manufacturer shall be followed regarding base coat preparation, acceptable pH levels, bonding, application and curing of their finish.

 

Limitations:

• Do not use in windy conditions.

• Do not add accelerator, air entrainment or other admixtures to Marvel Fix without written permission from an authorized manufacturer of Western Blended Products.

• Do not apply Marvel Fix on surfaces sloped less then 30 degrees or surfaces that are below grade or subject to hydrostatic pressure. 

• Do not apply when surface or ambient temperatures are at or below 40ºF / 4.4ºC or above 100ºF / 34ºC. Do not apply to surfaces that are contaminated with bond breakers, oils or other matter that may affect the performance of the product. Do not apply Marvel Fix if conditions are expected to be above or below the specified temperature range within 24 hours of application. 

 

Shelf Life:
12 months in original package properly stored.

 

Storage:
Marvel Fix shall be kept indoors or if stored outdoors, shall be adequately covered to keep dry and be stored off the ground.

 

Warranty:
Manufacturers or Western Blended Products (WBP) warrants its products to be of merchantable quality and suitable for the general purpose for which they were intended, when applied in accordance with WBP instructions.  Manufacturers of WBP do not warrant its products to be suitable for any purpose or use other than for which they were intended.  Liability under this warranty is limited to supplying new material without charge, or at manufacturers of WBP option, to a refund of the purchase price.  In the event of a claim under this warranty, written notice must be given to the originating plant of the WBP goods at the address shown hereon.  This limited warranty is issued and accepted in lieu of all other expressed warranties, and expressly excludes liability for consequential damages.  Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.  This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
