Description:
A cold weather accelerator for portland cement plaster that does not rust metal reinforcing.  Xccelerate is specifically formulated to modify Western 1-Kote, Top Gun Premium Plaster Cement and other plastering and masonry mortars.

 

Packaging and Storage:
Five–Gallon pail filled with 50#'s of Xccelerate powder and a 8 oz dispensing cup. Approximately 80 cups can be dispensed from a single pail. Powder is not affected by temperature. Pail contents shall be protected from moisture. 

 

Recommended add-ons to Western Blended Products Basecoats:

• WESTERN 1-KOTE 80 lb concentrate:

2%    -     2 to 2.5 cups
2.5% -     3 to 3.5 cups 

 

• WESTERN 1-KOTE 80lb sanded:

2%    -     ½ to 3/4 cup
2.5% -     1 to 1.5 cups

• Top Gun Premium Plastering Cement:

2%    -     3 cups
2.5% -     4 cups

• Other portland cement products:

Mixing:
Add part of the water required for the Western 1-Kote concentrate, Western 1-Kote sanded or Top Gun Premium Cement Plaster Add Xccelerate to the mixer and allow the water and powder to mix for 30 to 45 seconds.  Add additional basecoat and aggregate to the mix. Repeat the same procedure for each additional bag added to the batch. A 10% reduction in mixing water will result in an increase of early strength of approximately 10%.

Cold Weather Precautions:
Accelerated winter mixes are still subject to freezing.  Applicators must take appropriate measures when applying cement plaster in cold weather. If portland cement plaster modified with Xccelerate does not reach minimum strengths due to freezing weather conditions, cement basecoat will be compromised. Portland cement plaster mixed with Xccelerate shall be protected from freezing during application - and after application for a minimum of 24 hours.  If evidence of low strength and freezing are apparent, cure walls liberally and protect against additional freezing. No additional admixtures or setting materials shall be added to portland cement plaster mixed with Xccelerate.
